I have always thought that one of my strongest qualities is the intense curiosity I feel toward the world around me. In addition, I have begun to recognize cultural trends that trouble me (sometimes deeply), and I have actively made a commitment to avoid joining the ranks of the naysayers, haters, and trolls.

However, since I have not yet discovered my passion (and since I would not find long-term unemployment to be incredibly fulfilling or sustainable in the long-run), I know that my next curiosity is to find ways to actively contribute to the world to create a better tomorrow.

It is this curiosity that spurned me to run with my two newest undertakings: assisting others with used car sales and Training for a Cause. Although my intention is to create value for others in the process of these ventures, it is not completely selfless; I want to make new contacts, share in the satisfaction of helping others improve their lives, and potentially lead me to greater things in the years to come.

A little bit about me

Married with two kids, three cats, and a dog, Damon graduated in 2002 from Northern Illinois University with a degree in Business/Marketing. He has spent a number of years in sales, including three years as a sales consultant for industry-leader, CarMax. In addition, Damon was ACE certified in 2003, and has been a personal trainer at Bally’s and XSport Fitness.

Damon enjoys spending time in nature (particularly while riding his bike), looking for “purpose over profits,” and regularly challenging the status quo. Although he has recently passed the “Big-4-0,” Damon has no desire to be the richest man in the graveyard, and believes that hard work is great but only when it is accompanied by “flow.” (Not sure what “flow” is? Find out here!)

Not one to adhere to standard cultural norms “just because,” Damon is a classic introvert who prefers to keep a low profile and spend time only with a close few. He is a student of behavioral economics, politics, and markets and is fascinated by abstract concepts like game theory, quantum mechanics, and the Law of Attraction.

Damon also loves quotes and the inspiration they can provide. His current favorite is a classic one by renowned motivational speaker, Zig Ziglar, who (much like Damon aspires to do in his own day-to-day existence) focused on positivity and leading a balanced life:

“You can get everything in life you want if you will just help enough other people get what they want.” -Zig Ziglar
